On November 20, 2017, in accordance with the No. 75 document of Beijing Normal University in 2017, Beijing Normal University- University of Saskatchewan Joint Research Center on Climate and Water Science was established, subordinated to College of Water Sciences, with Teng Yanguo as Director.

In December 2018, upon the invitation from University of Saskatchewan in Canada, Secretary Teng Yanguo of College of Water Science led a delegation to attend the Seminar on China-Canada Joint Research Center on Climate and Water Science, and discussed joint research, cooperation in schooling, etc.
