IV. Background
Under the support and effort of numerous
experts at home, the China Water Forum, in response to the research, discussion
and solution of issues related to water environment and water resources in
China, has been successfully held for sixteen sessions. The China Water Forum
is undertaken by multiple units, involving Wuhan University, Institute of
Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS, Xi'an University of
Technology, Zhengzhou University, Hohai University, Sichuan University,
Heilongjiang University, Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering
Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAREERI, CAS), Sun Yat-Sen
University, Fujian Normal University, Center for Agricultural Resources
Research, IGDB, CAS, Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, Chinese
Academy of Sciences, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School and the
People's Government of Huangshan City. Leveraging the unremitting efforts for
over ten years, China Water Forum has now been a grand academic event that
draws great attention of the academic circle and industry sector.
The 1st China Water Forum was initiated by
organizations including Wuhan University, and sponsored by organizations like
Water Resources Commission, China Society of Natural Resources in 2003. Since
its fourth session, this seminar has adopted the unified cover and layout for
the collected papers, and logo, flag and forum pattern. In the process of
fostering the distinctive style, China Water Forum has gained increasingly
enormous influence on the study and discussion of Chinese water issues,
attracting the positive support and extensive participation of numerous

Undertaken by Beijing Normal University and
co-organized by China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research and
other units, the 17th China Water Forum will be unveiled in Beijing on November
8-10, 2019. Under the theme of "Explore the Future of Water Science for
Better Development of the New Era", the 17th China Water Forum will
arrange such major topics as the innovative water resources management, water
ecological safety, water disaster prevention, information technology for water,
and water system problems in key regions. Being future-oriented, the forum is
to serve the goal for providing intellectual support for the water security in
promoting the sustainable economic & social development and construction of
ecological civilization in China.

VI. Submission and Publication of Papers
The Proceedings of the 17th China Water
Forum will be officially published by "China Water & Power
Press". We are looking forward to your contribution! The publication will
be ensued by the forum conclusion. Please involve no confidential information
when writing the paper. As qualified papers are published officially, Editor-in-Chief
is empowered to revise and finalize the papers if necessary. Please adopt the
MS Word system to input and typeset the paper, and send it to the Conference
Secretariat by E-mail. Detailed requirements are specified in the Attachment.
Meanwhile, if obtaining the permission of the contributor, we will recommend
excellent papers to reputable journals at home and abroad like Journal of
Mountain Science and International Journal of Disaster Risk Science for
publication.
VII. Appraisal and Selection of Excellent
Papers by the Youth
During the forum, a judging panel will be
formed to appraise and select 10 excellent papers, which will be granted the
certificate of "Award of 2019 Top Ten Excellent Youth Papers on China
Water Forum" by China Society of Natural Resources and bonus by China
Water & Power Press.
(1) Objects: Scientific and technical
workers, postdoctors, doctors and masters under 35 years old (i.e., born after
January 1, 1984) (Note: scholars who have won this award cannot apply again);
(2) Requirements: The candidates who
participate in the appraisal and selection must be the first author of the
submitted paper in the Proceedings; the full text is required; the author must
be the one who will introduce the paper on the forum; and 1 application form
(download from the website) shall be submitted within the specified time before

VIII. Forum Expenses
The forum registration charges include the
conference materials cost and meal fees during the conference (other expenses
covering the accommodation and travel expense shall be borne by yourself). The

2. Format Requirements
Please use Chinese MS Word (Version
2003/2007) to enter the paper. The margin between the top and bottom is 2.54 cm
and between the left and right is 1.91 cm (i.e., the default margins of Word)
Title (Font Size: No. 3; Typeface:
Boldface; Position: Center); Author (Font Size: No. 4; Typeface: Imitation
Song-Dynasty-Style Typeface; Position: Center); Unit of the Author (Font Size:

paragraphed; the first-class, second-class and third-class headings shall
respectively be 1, 1.1 and 1.1.1, which shall adopt the set flush from the left
and leave a space thereafter; and the units used in the text shall be all in
accordance with international norms or national standards, such as km2 and kg
in English. When describing the area, please do not use "mu" but
converting to the equal measuring through "hectares" and write as
